For your chance to win a copy, leave us a comment letting us know your favorite character name in any book. We’d love to hear what you think!

Here are a few terrific facts about End of the Trail, and the characters you’ll find in it:

  1. The book is set in a town called “Shoofly”.
  2. The lead male is a charming young man, Brooks Morgan, who leaves home at sixteen with nothing but his horse.
  3. The lead female, Keri Langston, plays badminton at a ladies’ college, but still longs to shoot a rifle.
  4. Our favorite quote about Keri: “How many times had [Keri] wished for her rifle, if for nothing else than to instill a little fear into Miss Charlotte Winchester. But no, two years at college had refined her into a lady—and a lady never shot someone who was unarmed.”
  5. Brooks wins a ranch in a game of poker – but has no idea what he’s getting himself into.

Leave your comment below with your favorite character name for your chance to win a copy of End of the Trail!

Stephen Bly was a master at coming up with unique and memorable names. One of my favorites was a character in his Homestead Series named Leppy Verdue.

Not long after I read this series, my daughter was given a stuffed leopard. I said I thought we should name it “Leppy Verdue” and she agreed. However, in her three year old pronunciation the stuffed toy became “Leopardy Doo”. =)

Thanks for the chance to win.

I do like the name Esme (though not the series that made it popular). :)

  • Lisa Basner

Scarlett – I just love that name.

  • Penny

Fiona it has been in several books, but more popular in the Shrek movies.

I love the name Morrow Little, from Courting Morrow Little by Laura Frantz. A lovely name and incredible book!

The main character is Brooks, a perfect name for Billie Morgan’s firstborn. Name fits him — bubbly, smiley, optimistic as a bubbling brook and never know where he’s going or saying or doing next! Great main character and a great Morgan! What a series — just wish there were at least 10 more books to indulge in! How about it?! Don’t end it here, please! Can’t wait to read it ALL….
